"If I ruled the world – and who am I kidding, my children don’t even listen to me — I would do away with colleges’ binding early decision programs, or at least the versions many colleges implement today. In my perfect universe, all high school seniors would be allowed to have their choices evolve naturally. If a student has a first choice, let her articulate that in January of her senior year, after she has done all the work and submitted applications to all of her schools."
